EYFS

The EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) is a single quality framework to support children's learning and development from Birth to 5 years (end of child's reception year).

From September 2008 all providers including childminders offering care and education to children aged 0-5 outside of the family home will be working to the same framework and standards, this will involve observing, recording and assessing your child's progress.

For each child in this age range I will keep a developmental records file which looks at the 6 areas of learning. Physical development, problem solving, knowledge and understanding of the world, creative development, communication & emotional development.

Parents will be required to provide permission for me to carry out these written observations and they can look through their child's file periodically and will be encouraged to contribute to its content.
